Now Hiring: Grime Fighter (Seasonal Custodial Staff)
Employment Dates: June 29 – August 22, 2025
Compensation: $22/hour | ~17.5–18 hrs/week | Up to $4,000 for the season
Schedule: 5 days/week, including mandatory Sundays
Location: Camp Stomping Ground, Middle Grove, NY
Reports To: Facilities Director & Maintenance Director

About the Role

Camp Stomping Ground is on the lookout for a detail-loving, independently motivated Grime Fighter to help us keep our camp facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for over 200 campers and staff each week. This behind-the-scenes hero plays a crucial role in making camp feel like home.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and showers across six locations

  • Restocking toilet paper, soap, and other supplies

  • Communicating facility maintenance needs

  • Tracking daily tasks with cleaning logs

  • Deep cleaning and restocking during weekly camper turnover (especially Sundays)

  • Maintaining compliance with health and safety standards

Where You’ll Work (Facilities You'll Clean)

  • Bathhouse A: 10 showers, 4 toilets (5x/week)

  • Bathhouse B: 9 showers, 6 toilets (5x/week)

  • Medical/Getaway Baths: 2 full bathrooms (2x/week)

  • Dining Hall Bathrooms: 4 bathrooms (3x/week)

  • Barn Bathrooms: 2 bathrooms (3x/week)

  • Restocking, Deep Cleaning, Supply Runs: 2–3 hrs/week
    Total Weekly Time: ~17.5–18 hrs

The Ideal Grime Fighter:

  • Has prior cleaning or custodial experience (preferred but not required)

  • Is reliable, consistent, and works well independently

  • Can lift up to 30 lbs and stay on their feet

  • Is available Sundays and at least four other days each week

  • Values cleanliness, community, and supporting young people
