Solomon Northup Day

Solomon Northup Day Skidmore College will host a half-day program commemorating Solomon Northup, an African-American man who was abducted into slavery in 1841 and remained in captivity for 12 years. His memoir, Twelve Years a Slave, was made into a major motion picture in 2013 that won three Oscars, including best picture.
