Peer Coaching: A modern approach to developing leaders

But organizations need better leaders, not managers who are more knowledgeable about leadership. Peer-coaching groups are small highly productive communities of practice through which participants become better leaders. They are easy to setup, have immediate business impact and are a key catalyst to many of the most successful development programs. During this session you will learn about: – The key elements to peer-coaching groups – How peer-coaching groups are blended into leadership development initiatives – The basics of facilitation and support to sustain peer-coaching groups Participants will receive a CoachingOurselves peer-coaching module written by Charles Jennings, renowned 70:20:10 guru. During the session participants will use this module to practice peer-coaching one another on the theme of 70:20:10, a popular L&D framework used by most fortune 500 corporations. Phil LeNir is co-founder of CoachingOurselves, a peer-coaching program developed with world renowned Henry Mintzberg. CoachingOurselves peer-coaching groups are used by over 20,000 leaders in 7 languages around the world. It is a key component to a balanced 70:20:10 enterprise learning strategy. Phil has spoken at events and workshops around the world sharing his message that learning in groups makes learning happen. He is an open and straight talking presenter who delights at the opportunity to help others learn from his experiences. He wrote a popular book published in Japan on Social and Informal learning for managers, holds a patent on speech recognition using distributed speech processing, and has a Masters of Management degree and Honors Electrical Engineering degree from McGill University.
