Nuno Felt Cowl/Scarflette with Robin Blakney-Carlson. #1070-0610. 1 day.

This one-day workshop is a basic introduction to the nuno felting technique. The characteristics of nuno are very different from traditional wool felt, and the technique requires a different approach. Nuno felt is created by incorporating wool fibers and a finely woven base weave, felting them together to produce a lightweight, highly textured textile. Workshop participants will create an earthy, nuno cowl/scarflette using hand dyed superfine merino wool fiber, and silk fabric as a base.

NOTE:  Students should bring 2 old towels and a tape measure. A waterproof apron would be helpful too.
