Journeys, Art Exhibition

Local artist and author, Eva Marie Loucks announced she will have a solo art exhibition, Journeys, at the Town of Ballston Community Library from August 1 - August 25. This exhibit will featuring 23 works by Loucks, with a few pieces which are featured in her print-on-demand book, Medjuorje, A Personal Journey in Photography and Illustration. Loucks said, “I am very pleased to for this opportunity to share my work at the Community Library. I have been creating art for a long time, and have put together my love of art with my love of traveling.” The art exhibit at the library will run from August 1 - 25. Author/artist lives and works in her Ballston Spa residence. Loucks has been an artist for 28 years. The Saratoga area and traveling are a big part of Eva’s life. She has the ability to put images on paper creating a lasting impression of special moments, events, places or objects. Her images capture the fast-paced action and splendor of Saratoga. “Living in Saratoga County all my life,” said Loucks, “attending the August track meet is a traditional part of my summer.” Vivid scenery and images come to life in vibrant color. Many of her inspirations come from her travels to Australia, England, France, and Italy. Her most recent works have been inspired by her pilgrimages to Medjugorje, a small town in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Her range of works is impressive from timid docile sheep, to stark monoliths of Stonehenge, to soft watercolor sunlight on the a rocky hill to vivid acrylic pieces. All of Loucks’ work have bold, and intense colors as well as attention to detail in this unique and beautiful exhibit.
