Racers enjoy this fantastic venue in and around the picturesque Champlain Canalway system. The water is clean and calm. The bike course, through Northumberland farm country includes beautiful vistas. The run through Schuylerville and Hudson Crossing Park trails include the 19th-century tow-path that was used by the original Champlain Canal 200 years ago. This triathlon is a sprint distance race including a 500-yard swim, 12-mile bike ride and 5K run in the towns of Saratoga and Northumberland. * A course sanctioned by USA Triathlon * Chip timing with five splits * Custom race shirt (male/female cut) * Custom swim cap (if swimming) * Post-race food and drink * Prizes for overall and age-group winners * A fun, relaxed environment for both newbies and competitive athletes Spectators are free to watch as the participants and volunteers celebrate the history of this region and the natural beauty of the trails and features found at Hudson Crossing Park. The New York State Canal system has been designated a National Historic Landmark and Lock C5, next to Hudson Crossing Park, offers many features that helped place New York’s operating canals among the premier historic sites in the United States. Every year, participants have commented how wonderful the course is and how great the volunteers are. In addition to money raised through donations, a portion of race proceeds go to Hudson Crossing Park, a 501(c)(3) that is not only the race venue, but provides many of the great volunteers at the event. This event is directed by a USA Triathlon Certified Race Director and supported by the Saratoga Triathlon Club. To learn more about the park and the race go to www.hudsoncrossingpark.org.
