Adirondack Pack Basket - Large with Linda Scherz Allen. #878-0809. 2 days. August 9&10

The Adirondack Pack Basket is one of the most recognized objects associated with the Adirondacks. These versatile baskets were used to carry just about everything the guides, hunters and trappers took with them into the woods. Create your own pack basket patterned from the traditional Adirondack Pack Baskets. The large pack will fit an adult man or woman. Weave your basket with reed, add a hardwood handle and complete with a sturdy rim. Linda will guide you and teach you basket making techniques as you concentrate on shape as you weave. Students will be using a drawknife to shape rims and skids. A harness will be applied to your completed pack. Students have a choice of cotton harness or custom leather harness. The leather harness needs to be ordered a minimum of two weeks prior to class. Baskets will not be stained during class. Linda will bring tools for students to use during class.
